Man found bludgeoned to death

Police said a 51-year-old man was bludgeoned to death by another man at a home in southern Michigan’s Calhoun County.

The Battle Creek Enquirer reported Calhoun County Sheriff’s investigators found the body Tuesday afternoon in Pennfield Township.

Authorities said the suspect, who formerly lived at the home with the man, was taken into custody at a friend’s apartment following a 30-minute standoff. No one else was injured in the standoff.

Names weren’t immediately released. Authorities were working to determine a motive for the slaying.
