Ernie Marvin of Grand Haven, who has spent nearly 30 years re-enacting will be the featured speaker at the Tri-Cities Historical Museum’s Brown Bag Luncheon series at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 27.
Marvin will point out the differences between French and Native American culture. However, the two cultures also adopted some practices and beliefs that made for a strong bond, in comparison to other Europeans who arrived here.
As a re-enactor, Marvin personifies a French fur trader. This is not merely a hobby for Marvin; he makes his living selling furs 365 days a year — traveling to various 18th-century living history events, as well as other shows.
Those planning to attend are invited to bring a sack lunch.
