Gregory Maytan played violin music ranging from soft classical viola-accompanied chamber to solo contemporary in a one-hour performance Sunday at Loutit District Library.

Maytan is a faculty member of Grand Valley State University. He performs regularly as a soloist, chamber and orchestral musician.

The accompanying viola on Sunday was played by Libor Ondras, who is director of orchestras and string specialist at Grand Rapids Community College.

Sunday’s performance was part of the Grand Haven library’s Sunday Afternoon Concert Series.

The next concert in the library’s upper lobby will be Grand Haven High School’s Gotak — a small, extracurricular string ensemble directed by Melissa Myers. They will be playing traditional Irish and Celtic folk music at 2 p.m. March 11.
