A former Grand Haven Area Public Schools employee now has a seat on its school board.
The Grand Haven Board of Education on Wednesday appointed Grand Haven resident Christine Baker to the term vacated late last month by Jennifer Williams, who resigned in February when she moved to Boston.
Grand Haven Area Public Schools Superintendent Keith Konarska received glowing reviews from the district's Board of Education during his annual evaluation during a closed session at a special meeting Thursday night.
A restructuring plan for Fruitport Community Schools' elementary program was shot down by the district's school board Monday night.
"I think they did the right thing,' said Fruitport parent Kristina Hedges. "They listened to the community and did the right thing.'
Grand Haven Christian School has announced plans to offer morning-only, Monday through Friday kindergarten classes beginning in the next school year.
"We want to offer our families choices,' GHCS Administrator Rick Geertsma said.
