City officials got a bird's-eye view Wednesday morning of the aging coal tipple along Harbor Drive to help in deciding its future. The Grand Haven Department of Public Safety's aerial ladder truck was used to get a view of the roof condition of the old tipple.

For the second time this year, the Tri-Cities area has been blanketed with snow, forcing schools to close and residents to dig out from under it. Local school districts including Grand Haven and Spring Lake public schools were closed today, as were many private schools.
