A trio of local soccer players will be vying for a national championship today at in Brandon, Fla. Grand Haven's Matt Davis, Chad Buitenhuis and Ryan Schoonover are members of the Kalamazoo Kingdom travel soccer team. The Kingdom scored a 1-0 victory over TSF Academy in Monday's semifinals of the Boys U17 division of the United Soccer Leagues (USL) Super Y-League North American Finals. The Kingdom will face defending national champion Ironbound SC in today's championship game.
