In a meet featuring three of the top 10 ranked teams in the state, Grand Haven's girls cross country team edged No. 10 Grandville on Wednesday but fell short against third-ranked Hudsonville at Johnson Park in Grandville.
"Our girls took eight of the top 17 places, but only three of the top 10,' said Buccaneers' coach Greg Russick. "Hudsonville, the fastest team in the state at this time, placed four girls in the top seven and beat us up front.'
The Bucs beat the Bulldogs, 26-32, but fell to the Eagles, 27-30.
