The fifth-grade students in Kirby Chittenden's class at Lake Hills Elementary School will present six campus performances of their class play beginning this morning.
The 25 students will also present a public performance of "Time Journey 3: Once Upon a Time' at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Approximately 40 boys and girls ages 9 to 14 year old from Grand Haven, Spring Lake, West Olive, Muskegon, Fruitport and Nunica will compete at Lakeshore Middle in the Grand Haven running of the Hershey's Track & Field Games on Thursday.
Voters in Grand Haven Township will be deciding on a fire equipment millage this summer.
The Township Board on Monday unanimously approved language for a one-year, 0.59-mill property tax to pay for fire apparatus - a 0.03-mill dip from the original one-year option of 0.62 mill. It will be on the Aug. 7 ballot.

Velma Youngs of Fruitport was missing the funeral of a dear friend today so she could walk and raise money in his memory at the American Cancer Society Relay for Life being held this weekend at White Pines Middle School.
