Insurer, Mich. hospitals switch reimbursement plan

Michigan's largest health insurer and a dozen hospitals announced Monday they are starting to carry out a cost-saving deal designed to prevent unnecessary or overused tests and procedures, an attempt to put less emphasis on the traditional way providers are reimbursed for medical services.

Golf team van collides with 2nd van; 3 dead

A minivan carrying six members of a northern Michigan high school boys' golf team collided with another van on a rural road, killing the 30-year-old coach and a 17-year-old golfer, and a 27-year-old woman in the other vehicle.
