Jennifer McVoy has been showcasing horses since she was 8 years old and exhibits them regularly at national horse competitions, said her husband, Jason Bergeron. The Park Township couple currently owns five horses, and said they would like to raise them and five more on 25 acres they are seeking to purchase on 152nd Avenue in Grand Haven Township.

A third-generation Hope College student was struck and killed by a train Monday night in Holland. Police said Joshua P. Boerigter, 18, of Portage was walking along the train tracks near 12th Street and Lincoln Avenue, adjacent to the Hope College campus, when he was hit by a CSX Railroad train at 8:48 p.m.
