Two Grand Rapids-area men were taken to the hospital and treated for hypothermia after their fishing boat swamped in Lake Macatawa and they had to swim to shore, said Sgt. Keith Garvelink of the Ottawa County Sheriff's Department.
Terrance Mullenix, 39, of Wyoming; and Brett James, 32, of Grand Rapids, went fishing in a 16-foot fiberglass boat about 5 p.m. Friday, Garvelink said. The boat started taking on water when the men were about 200 yards south of the Anchorage Marina on the north side of the lake.
