The budget, approved Monday, includes spending $58.6 million on operations. Per-pupil funding will shrink to $7,234 - about same as funding levels from the 2005-2006 school year, according to Donna Bylenga, GHAPS director of business services. Despite these setbacks, the district avoided teacher layoffs because several teachers retired at the end of the school year.
