Family looking for information on missing relative

Walter’s mother, Mary Wojahn of Fremont, said she has been trying to call her son’s cell phone, but hasn’t been able get through.

“It’s not like him to do this,” Harry said. “We have no idea where he could be.”

Mary, who is disabled and said she counts on her son to take her to her doctor’s appointments, said she’s used to having Walter call her two or three times a day “to make sure I’m all right.”

Michigan State Police Sgt. Ron Nelson of the Newaygo Post confirmed that Walter’s employer was concerned, as Walter had always showed up to work — until Saturday.

Nelson said police were investigating Walter’s disappearance, but that it was being handled as a “voluntary missing person” because the man wasn’t in any apparent danger because of any medical concerns. Because of that, no alerts are sent out to media.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Walter Wojahn is asked to call the state police post in Newaygo at 231-652-1661.
