The Grand Valley State University student is required to participate in the Kent County Prosecuting Attorney’s Diversion Program, which is similar to probation. Upon completion, Braden's record will be clean.
In May, Braden said she was just trying to see how eBay worked and wasn’t trying to peddle the toddler, who is a cousin.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department detectives said dispatchers received phone calls from as far away as California and New York, notifying them about the posting.
The case was prosecuted in Kent County because that’s where the incident took place.
“I am satisfied with the resolution of the case because it hopefully teaches her a valuable lesson while affording her the opportunity to avoid a criminal conviction and keep her record clean,” Forsyth said.
