Judy Hylen of Spring Lake said she and her friend came out to dance “because we have to stay young.”
Line dancing instruction was one of many activities planned as a part of the Coast Guard Festival’s Senior Day, which was new this year.
“I think it’s about time,” Hylen said. “Kids Day and (now) Senior Day.”
This was the motivation behind the addition, said Madonna Kramer, the festival’s director of marketing and fund development. She said the Coast Guard Festival tries to reach everyone.
The Living Well Expo was also held Wednesday morning at Mulligan’s Hollow, where various health organizations offered their services and educate people about the opportunities they have.
Other activities of Senior Day included a pickleball tournament, bingo, a boxed lunch, and entertainment from the Pigeon Creek Shakespeare Company and the Weideman Family Band.
