Ottawa County Sheriff’s Deputies reported Friday that a Grand Haven man was hit in the arm, possibly by an errant bullet fired at the range. Grand Valley State University police officers were using the weapon range for training at the time.

GVSU also released a statement saying the university was cooperating fully with the sheriff’s department, and any further statements would be released through the OCSD.

Sheriff’s deputies were called to North Ottawa Community Hospital Thursday morning when hospital officials reported they were treating a man struck by a bullet.

The 30-year-old man was reportedly working on a house on Acacia Drive in the Cutter Park subdivision when he was injured, police said.

A house in the same subdivision, about a half mile from the shooting range, was also struck by a bullet, police said.

The incident remains under investigation by the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department.
