Kemani Auciello, 30, was slowing for another property damage crash that had just occurred on the highway, said Sgt. Curt Theune of the Spring Lake/Ferrysburg Police Department.

Both crashes occurred about 7:39 a.m.

Theune said a vehicle driven by Spring Lake Township resident Ann McFall, 42, was in the right lane, made a lane change and sideswiped a car driven by a Muskegon woman, Brenda Ferrier, 47.

The two had stopped to examine their vehicles when Auciello observed the incident, turned on his flashers and slowed down, Theune said. Auciello was rear-ended by a car driven by John Normandin, 48, of Holton.

The Auciello suffered an arm injury and was taken by ambulance to North Ottawa Community Hospital.

McFall was ticketed for unsafe lane change.

Normandin was ticketed for failure to stop in an assured clear distance ahead.
