State Rep. Bob Genetski, R-Saugatuck, received the sentence Wednesday in East Lansing District Court.
A Michigan State University police officer stopped him Jan. 19. A test at a hospital showed Genetski with a blood-alcohol level of 0.09 percent. A reading of 0.08 percent or more is drunk under Michigan law.
Genetski, 45, took the case to trial, and a jury convicted him Sept. 25.
Genetski said he was driving slightly over the speed limit and heading to a motel after leaving the state Capitol area on the night of Gov. Rick Snyder's State of the State address.
