The Eggleston Township man, a coin dealer, was connected to recent home invasions during an investigation.

Police said two suspects were arrested for a string of cases involving home invasions and thefts from cars. During the investigation, some of the stolen property was traced to the Norton Shores coin dealer.

Police conducted a brief undercover operation, then sought charges against the dealer.

“A dealer or an agent or employee of a dealer shall not knowingly receive or purchase a precious item from a person unless that person presents a valid driver's license or a valid state of Michigan personal identification card,” police said.

The felony charge is punishable by imprisonment for not more than two years, or a fine of $5,000, or both.
