Alexander Snively, 18, is now scheduled to be sentenced in Ottawa County Circuit Court at 1 p.m. Jan. 14.
No reason was given for the delay.
Snively faces up to 15 years in prison on charges of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, and resisting and obstructing a police officer resulting in serious injury.
The teen did not contest the charges as part of a plea agreement on Dec. 3, which included dropping a lesser charge of resisting and obstructing a police officer, said his attorney, Joe Legatz.
Grand Haven public safety officer Joe Schulte was injured when Snively hit him with a wine bottle on Sept. 29. Schulte had been responding to a call on a disturbance at a Clinton Street apartment at the time.
Legatz said his client had taken LSD and did not remember what happened.
“He is very remorseful,” the attorney said.
Schulte had returned to work on limited duty in early December.
