Teen crime spree included theft, cow shooting

AP Wire • Jul 21, 2015 at 12:03 PM

The Jackson County Sheriff's Department said a 13-year-old Sandstone Township resident and a 14-year-old Parma Township resident are charged in juvenile petitions with breaking and entering, safe breaking, and killing and torturing an animal.

Authorities said the teens broke into a branch of the Jackson District Library in Parma Township on June 18. Cash and electronics were taken, and books were scattered throughout the library.

On Sept. 10, authorities said the teens stole a safe from the library as well as a shotgun from a farm, then shot the cow several times.
