U.S. District Judge David L. Bunning on Friday sentenced Tyhkan S. Brunson, 34, for the use of unauthorized credit cards and aggravated identity theft. Bunning also ordered Brunson and his co-defendants to jointly pay $5,478 in restitution.
Prosecutors said Brunson and three others used counterfeit credit cards bearing real numbers from 32 people and, in one day, drove from Michigan to Kentucky to purchase thousands of dollars in gift cards and other merchandise.
Brunson's co-defendants previously received sentences ranging from 24 months in prison to 44 months in prison.
