Grand jury indicts 31 in probe of Holland gang

AP Wire • Jul 21, 2015 at 12:12 PM

Prosecutors said members of the Holland Latin Kings engaged in violence while peddling cocaine and marijuana. The indictment released today says members pay $10 weekly dues, which are used to buy guns or drugs for resale and also pay attorneys.

The indictment describes attacks and attempted murders against rival gang members.

Most of the 31 defendants are charged with a racketeering conspiracy.

The government said the Holland Latin Kings are connected to the Latin Kings in the Chicago area. The indictment says the Michigan group began in 1993 and has grown significantly, especially in prisons.
