Are the lights working right?

ANSWER:

The traffic flow along U.S. 31 in Grand Haven is timed so that a vehicle will not have to stop if they travel the posted speed limit, explained John Richard, spokesman for the Michigan Department of Transportation's Grand Region.

"Now, with that said, there are a few exceptions," he said. "During rush hours, traffic becomes congested (over capacity) and traffic speeds are reduced, causing backups and the progression along U.S. 31 cannot be maintained."

Richard said the clocks for the traffic signals are set to change with the hour change from standard time to Daylight Saving Time, and back again in the fall.

"We will check the clocks to make sure they all are properly timed," he promised.
