Was there an explosion?

ANSWER:

At first, I thought it might have been that F-18 jet fighter that landed at the Muskegon County Airport late last month. It was very loud, and maybe that was a sonic boom created by the jet.

But the dates don't line up. The jet left on June 20, according to airport officials, so it's not the culprit.

Norton Shores Police Chief Dan Shaw said he heard the "explosion," too. However, there's no reports on record about it.

"With that, we have no idea what cause the sound of an explosion," Shaw said. "No reports of injuries or damage in the area either."
