Jennifer Duarte was taken by Aero Med helicopter to Spectrum Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids following the crash that occurred just before 8 a.m. on 120th Avenue south of Lincoln Street.

Police said it was the type of injury that caused them to request Aero Med.

Duarte was northbound on 120th Avenue, enroute home from a new third shift job in Holland, when she apparently fell asleep and her Ford Taurus drifted across the southbound lane and off the road.

The rotted tree was knocked down in the crash.

Duarte was pinned inside the vehicle and was extricated by Robinson Township firefighters.

She was placed in an ambulance and taken to a nearby field where she was transferred into the helicopter.

Her condition is unknown at this time, although police said she was talking to emergency workers at the scene.

A hospital official said she was in good condition as of 3:30 p.m.

The crash is still under investigation.

The area was closed to traffic for almost an hour and a half.
