Woman robbed while making night deposit

This is the second time this spring that a robbery has been attempted at the night deposit box at the same bank, said Capt. Mark Bennett of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department.
Suspects were not successful in the April 12 attempt.
Bennett said a 31-year-old Muskegon woman was attempting to deposit a bag of money at about 11:50 p.m., when a man grabbed her and demanded the money.
The suspect, described as a thin black man, about 5-7 to 5-11 in height, managed to get the bag after a very short struggle and fled to the south.
The victim, a manager at an area business, suffered minor injuries, but did not need treatment, Bennett said.
No weapons were used or implied in the incident, the detective said.
A canine unit searched the area, but was not able to locate the suspect.
Police said the suspect was wearing a gray hoodie and had an orange bandana on his face.
Officials were planning to view surveillance video from the bank.
