Sgt. Christie Wendt of the Ottawa County Sheriff's Department said Nathaniel Prause, 22, was driving west on M-45 when he made the left turn at 104th Avenue shortly after 9 p.m.

Prause's Chevy Sonic was hit by an eastbound Jeep Wrangler. The collision forced the Wrangler to roll over several times and strike four parked cars at the Embassy Bar & Grill.

The driver of the Wrangler, 26-year-old James Velthuis of West Olive, was taken by a North Ottawa Community Hospital ambulance to Spectrum Health Hospital in Grand Rapids, where he was being treated for multiple non-life-threatening injuries on Friday night, Wendt said. Prause was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

Wendt said Prause, a Muskegon County resident, was cited for failing to yield the right of way.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts and alcohol is not a factor in the crash, Wendt said.
