Misdemeanor arrest warrants have been authorized for two adults for abandoning animals - three cats and one dog - when they moved out of a Fruitport-area home last month.
The race for supervisor and four trustee seats are contested in Fruitport Township next week.

Police are investigating a number of suspicious calls received by an area restaurant, which may be fraudulent. The owner of the restaurant first reported the calls to Fruitport Township Police Department in February.
A two-vehicle crash sent an SUV plowing into an electrical box near the intersection of Harvey Street and Sternberg Road in Fruitport Township at about 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
Nearby shoppers witnessed a purse snatching and were able to retrieve the purse for a woman shopping Friday at the Meijer store on Harvey Street near Sternberg Road.
