Crash at Grand Haven intersection
An elderly man was injured when his car was hit by a sport utility vehicle at the intersection of Fifth Street and Franklin Avenue shortly before 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Police said the SUV ran the stop sign on westbound Franklin.
It took emergency personnel about a half-hour to cut the roof from the smashed car to free the injured man, who was taken by ambulance to North Ottawa Community Hospital.
