Civil War monument rededicated
More than 100 people made their way into the center of the city cemetery for the ceremony. Civil War re-enactors provided the historical perspective.
The memorial was carefully cleaned in June through the efforts of 26 volunteers. The headstones of 15 soldiers who fought in the Civil War were also cleaned.
The Tri-Cities Historical Museum and Loutit District Library hosted Saturday's event, which was followed by tours of the graves of veterans who served the Union at the Battle of Gettysburg, 150 years ago this month. The Gen. John A. Logan Camp No. 1 conducted the rededication.
