We took a walk through the Nunica Cemetery during the daylight. Some say this cemetery in the woods of Crockery Township off M-104, just west of the I-96/M-231 interchange, may be West Michigan's most haunted — but that's at night. In any case, it is the final resting place for many, including Ottawa County's first recipient of the Medal of Honor, Sgt. Henry E. Plant (1841-1925). He earned it during the Civil War. Note: Walking through cemeteries is a great way to discover a community's history, but please be respectful.
