Tuesday was all about tracks to the past at the Spring Lake Heritage Festival.

The knitters from the Prayer Shawl Ministry of the First Presbyterian Church took advantage of National Knit in Public Day on Monday to have a knitting outing at the Bil-Mar Restaurant.

More than 100 people registered for the 5k and 5-mile run and walk from Hemlock Crossing to Pine Bend county parks on Saturday. The event was held to raise money for the Michigan Lyme Disease Association and to raise awareness of the disease in West Michigan. It was organized by the Rice family of Grand Haven Township. Ashley Rice, a Grand Haven High School student and cross country runner, suffers from the disease. Tribune photos by Mark Brooky.
