Grand Haven Rotary Club will be hosting its annual pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday. The fundraiser will be held outdoors along the waterfront behind 1 S. Harbor Ave., at the foot of Washington and Franklin avenues. A breakfast of pancakes, sausages, eggs, orange juice and coffee is $6.50 for adults and $5.50 for anyone over age 65 or under age 10. Kids under age 5 eat free. Grand Haven Rotary is part of Rotary International, a global network of community volunteers. This fundraiser will benefit local community projects and projects around the world.

A new service line that will address an escalating condition in aging women - referred to in clinical circles as "a silent epidemic' - has now been established in Grand Haven by the North Ottawa Community Health System. The Pelvic Prolapse Correction Center of Michigan uses the da Vinci Surgical System - the only one of its kind on the Lakeshore - to correct pelvic prolapse. This robotic surgery repositions female reproductive organs that have lapsed, or fallen; as well as strengthens the posterior, anterior and floor of the pelvis.

Chef Mark Anthony made a lifestyle change five years ago that he says helped him lose 80 pounds and cut his cholesterol level in more than half. From steak, shrimp, fast-food burgers and fries to fresh fruits, vegetables and whole grains - and from 305 pounds to 225 - Anthony has some tips of his own he shares with people around the country.
