Grand Haven residents have a special anniversary to look forward to this summer. One of the most prominent attractions, the Musical Fountain, is celebrating its 50-year anniversary.

They sat in chairs and wheelchairs in a line across the front of the common room at Robbinswood Assisted Living Center in Grand Haven on Friday. Some sat up straight and proud, others slumped slightly with age. Some sat with stoic expressions, while others smiled and a couple even cried.

A circus, concerts and a water-ski show are on the recently announced list of entertainment acts for the 2012 Coast Guard Festival. Coast Guard Festival spokeswoman Madonna Kramer said festival organizers select entertainers by gauging how the audience has responded to performers through the years.

Police have identified their suspect in a racial slur incident in Grand Haven. Grand Haven Public Safety Director Jeff Hawke said they've identified a 56-year-old Grand Haven man as the likely culprit.
