A 69-year-old Muskegon woman has been ordered to spend 60 days in jail for the arson of a mobile home she owned in Northwest Ottawa County.
Gladys Mae Keech pleaded guilty earlier this year to arson of insured property, according to court records. She was sentenced Tuesday in Ottawa County Circuit Court.
Grand Haven's new Beach Express service aims to relieve traffic and provide a convenient way to the beach.
The service will run from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays throughout the summer, depending on the weather. It begins June 9.
Cost hikes have caused city officials to adjust the scope of a project aimed at updating the Municipal Marina.
"We're going to put the roof on, but we don't get the carpet or the couch,' Grand Haven Project Manager Julie Beaton said.
A 26-year-old Grand Rapids man tired while swimming from a boat to the beach and had to be assisted by other swimmers in the area, said Lt. Renee Freeman of the Grand Haven Department of Public Safety.
