Grand Haven will be submitting a scaled-back request to the state for park improvement funding for Mulligan's Hollow. "We're going to get most of what they want done there, but we're going to do it in a piecemeal fashion as we can afford it,' Councilman John Hierholzer said.

(Check back here for updates) Two of the girls involved in the serious crash on Interstate 96 have been released, hospital officials confirmed. Another of the girls has been upgraded from critical condition to serious. Danielle Michaels was discharged from the hospital Saturday, and Hannah DeVecht was allowed to go home Sunday. Officials said Emily Bogner was upgraded to serious condition.

The participants in this year's Leadership Connect class are hoping to help area teens reach new heights with a new youth activity center. The group is planning to build a $35,000 teen center at the Tri-Cities Family YMCA that will include a 20-foot climbing wall, games and other skill-building activities.
