Grand Haven's MACkite store is expanding its reach eastward. The longtime Grand Haven business now has a location at 217 Beechtree St., in the Eastown neighborhood. It is a showroom and warehouse for kiteboarding and stand-up paddleboarding gear.

Pirates were given the go-ahead to raise their flag over Harbor Island this summer for the fourth annual Michigan Pirate Festival, an event held in conjunction with Loutit District Library.
