A Muskegon man accused of taking a gun into the Grand Haven post office is now being charged in federal court. George Edward Covington III, 42, was indicted April 12 by a grand jury on federal weapons and drug felony charges related to the Grand Haven incident, according to Ottawa County Prosecuting Attorney Ron Frantz.

Grand Haven's east side is bustling with activity and there are no signs of things slowing down. "I do like the fact that the east end is growing and there are more businesses going in,' Jeri Page said. "There is a community pride there.' Page and her husband, Todd, are opening East End Ice Cream in the old Cone Zone location at 1453 Washington Ave. They purchased the closed ice cream shop in September 2011. "At one time, it had really good business,' she said.
