A Grand Haven woman and her 12-year-old son were ordered to leave their home Monday when police said they determined it was an unfit place to live. Marijo Keller said she rented the home at 1720 Waverly Ave. from its owner, Gary Stillson.

Although graffiti vandalism is not considered a major crime, it still hits the victims in the wallet. Grand Haven Public Works Director Bill Hunter said it could cost up to $150 for materials and time involved in replacing a stop sign that's been "tagged.' "Tagging is spray-painting something,' he explained.

Mike Peasley was working with a vendor at the back door of the Walgreen's store on Robbins Road on Tuesday morning when he noticed a duck squawking in the driveway. "The mom (duck) kept coming at me,' said the store team leader. "She was going nuts.'
