Embezzler who got tax credit faces new charges

FLINT A convicted embezzler out on parole who snagged a multimillion-dollar business tax credit from the state of Michigan was charged today in connection with money taken from an 86-year-old neighbor with dementia. RASCO CEO Richard A. Short now faces 24 charges of fraud, embezzlement, obtaining money under false pretenses and illegal use of a financial transaction device, Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton said at a news conference.

SPRING LAKE TOWNSHIP Spring Lake High School students will display a wide array of talents from singing to drumming to playing the flute when they take the stage for the school's annual talent show tonight. The 7 p.m. show will include 14 acts that features more than 30 high school students. The acts include beat boxing, sound mixing and the Spring Lake color guard.
