Our History

The Grand Haven Waterfront Holiday Inn sits just north of Grand Haven in Spring Lake, Michigan. It is located on M-104 right off US 31 and seven miles west of I-96. The hotel is on the Grand River with close access of Spring Lake and Lake Michigan.

The present site of the hotel was a thriving lumber mill in the mid 1800’s where logs were corralled and floated upstream to be shipped across the Great Lakes.

The property opened its doors in 1969. It continued to be a Holiday Inn until 1996 when it was bought by a new owner and turned into a privately owned hotel called the Grand Harbor Resort. Without the corporate support, the property struggled until it was bought again by another owner in 2001 and turned back into a Holiday Inn.

Today the hotel continues to gain popularity and guests who stayed at the hotel in its early years still visit to this day.

We are a Restaurant and Bar with Happy Hour Specials, Nightly Specials, Comedy Night We are also a Hotel with Nightly or Weekly Lodging. We have a swimming pool.

We Host Corporate Meetings and Special Events

Jack's Lounge provides year round entertainment, which features the best in live bands and comedy. During the summer months, enjoy a cool cocktail outside at the Tiki bar overlooking the waterfront and outdoor pool. Try an appetizer, sandwich, or feature off our special Lounge and Tiki menu. Weekdays enjoy our Happy Hour Specials 5PM to 7PM from Taco Tuesdays to Wing It Wednesdays. Be sure to try Jack’s signature drink, the Rum Bomber.

Awarded best dance spot in the area! Live bands every Friday and Saturday night 9PM–1AM all year long! During the summer enjoy live music on the deck and steel drums at the Tiki Bar. Call to see who is playing this week!

Comedy Night

Awarded best comedy spot in the area! Enjoy two comedians every Thursday night starting at 9:30PM. No cover for everyone 21 and over. Great drink specials such as our $3 shot of the night.
