DeYoung’s column was titled “Brock draws biggest cheers at Big House.” It was about Brock Mealer, a 25-year-old man who lost the use of his legs in an automobile accident two years ago. After working with the University of Michigan strength and conditioning staff, he was able to shed his wheelchair and lead the Wolverines onto the field for their 2010 season-opening football game against the University of Connecticut.
