Cosmops to sing at Loutit District Library on April 10

The Muskegon Cosmopolitan Male Singers will present a selection of songs at Loutit District Library on Sunday. The free Cosmops concert, part of the library's Sunday Afternoon Concert Series, will begin at 2 p.m. It will be in the library's Upper Level Lobby. The Cosmops first performed in 1933 as an octet. Within a year, they had grown into a male chorus of close to 50 singers which competed in the Chicagoland Music Festival. They took third-place honors in that competition. Since then, the group has performed two annual concerts.

The early Cosmops emphasized classical music, but have since tried to balance performances with a variety of musical styles. Their focus today is on an eclectic show of quality music.
