Man pleads guilty in Michigan girl's death in 1993

A man has pleaded guilty in the fatal shooting of an 8-year-old Grand Rapids girl in 1993. Robert "Bobby' Brown pleaded to second-degree murder on Thursday in the death of Lativia Johnson. The plea allows the 38-year-old to avoid a potential mandatory sentence of life in prison without parole, but the Grand Rapids Press reported he'll be required to testify against co-defendant Robert Gaines. The 36-year-old Gaines faces a preliminary examination in the case starting Monday in Grand Rapids District Court.
