Lake Mich. Art Walk in Muskegon on Saturday

The Lake Michigan Art Walk is taking its art outdoors, for the first time, on Saturday. Nestled among the nooks and patios of downtown Muskegon, from Third Street to Western Avenue, participating artists will be displaying the best of their collections - including many new pieces created specifically for this event - from . "Our artists are excited to be outside this year - natural light is very complimentary to the arts,' said Gary Packingham, an artist and one of the organizers of the Lake Michigan Art Walk.

The Lake Michigan Art Walk began last year with just a handful of participants and has since grown to include more than 60 artists. Packingham cites the local support the LMAW as one of the key components for their success.

For those artists who prefer to display their wares indoors, many businesses like the Frauenthal Center and Waddell & Reed will offer indoor venues for the event.

The group is scheduling events in June, August, and September.
