PAIR OF BUCS ADVANCE

Grand Haven senior Ben Lewis and sophomore Kevin LaCroix each shot an 82 at Thursday’s Division 1 golf district tournament at Muskegon Country Club.

The pair advance to next Thursday’s regional tournament at Rockford, where they will attempt to qualify for the state meet.

As a team, the Bucs were just a few shots off the qualifying pace, finishing with a 338 strokes, good for eighth place.

Patrick Ferris shot an 86 for Grand Haven. Mark Nalley added a 94, and Reid Murphy shot an 88.

“It was unfortunate that we threw some shots away coming down the last holes, but I believe it is a great learning lesson for our young guys,” coach Randy White said.
