Heritage Festival kicks off today

The five-day Spring Lake Heritage Festival kicks off today. In the coming week, the Tribune will be publishing photos and videos from many of the events. 6:30 p.m. — Dog Walk (registration 6 p.m.) Spring Lake Central Park, bring your dogs and kids to walk to Old Boys Brewhouse for some doggie fun

7 p.m. — Tri-Cities Historical Museum Village Walk - Meet at Village Hall

7 p.m. — Family Feud Party, SL District Library, kids and parents come and feud about Winsor McCay


8 a.m. to 6 p.m. — Flea Market, C3 Exchange Church

5:30-8:30 p.m. — Family Fun Night. All events at Mill Point Park. Blow-up games and activities for kids of all ages. Local police and fire departments with vehicles, Ottawa County Sheriff Mounted Unit.

5:30 p.m. — Lions Club Community Picnic, hot dogs, chips and soda at family-friendly prices

5:30-8 p.m. — Harbor Humane Society pets available for adoption

6 p.m. — Children’s Advocacy Center, make safety bracelets for the children

6 p.m. — Tri-Cities Historical Museum, make some old time music. Play a washtub, washboard or spoons, make a harmonica/kazoo.

6 p.m. — Ice Cream Social, sponsored by Spring Lake Rotary


8 a.m. to 4 p.m. — Flea Market, C3 Exchange Church

9 a.m. to 2 p.m. — Farmers Market, Church Street, next to Library

9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. — Senior Activities Day, Holiday Inn, coffee, donuts (donations accepted), bingo and lunch for $5

1-3 p.m. — Senior Ice Cream Social, The Little Red House Adult Day Care, 331 E. Exchange St.

5-7 p.m. -— Senior Art Mixer, Holiday Inn. Showcasing local senior artists, art awards by public vote, beer and wine tasting with hor d’oeurves ($5)

5-8:30 p.m. — Friends of the Library, SL District Library book sale

4-8 p.m. — Wings on the Water, Mill Point Park, barbecue wings cookoff. Vote for your favorite

7 p.m. — Music at the Point, Sweet Lou & The Savages performing

7 p.m. — Tri-Cities Historical Museum, presenting a program about Spring Lake resorts at Barber School


9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. — Friends of the Library, SL District Library book sale continues

5-9 p.m. — Car Show, Spring Lake Wesleyan Church, hot rods, classic cars and trucks. Food concessions provided by Boy Scouts

6:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. — Beer Tent, Mill Point Park. Music by Click. Admission is $3, valid ID required. Must be age 21 or older. Food provided by Butch’s Beach Burritos


6:30-9:30 a.m. — 5K Run/Walk, Central Park. Packet pick up and late registration 6:30-7:45 a.m.

9 a.m. — Laker Golf Scramble, Terra Verde Golf Course, Nunica, Four-man teams. Call 846-5506 for information

8-11 a.m. — Pancake Breakfast, Barber School, sponsored by Spring Lake Lions Club

9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. — Friends of the Library, SL District Library book sale continues

3 p.m. — Civil War Cemetery Walk, an official Civil War Sesquicentennial event

10 a.m. to 3 p.m. — Pickleball Tournament, Central Park, watch the Pickleball exhibition and the Sheaf demonstration

6:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. — Beer Tent, Mill Point Park, music by Cover Story, admission $3, valid ID required, must be at least age 21. Food provided by Butch’s Beach Burritos

10 p.m. — Huntington Bank Fireworks at Mill Point Park
