Senior Cory Cook was 13th at 21:16, and Ashley Warner placed 16th at 21:27. Also running well for the Lakers were Halle Billinghurst (18th place, 21:53) and Gretta Nyboer (24th place, 22:16).

“This was a good test for our team,” coach Aaron Andres said. “It has been two weeks since our last race and we stressed maintaining and no letdowns. Brittany looked very strong as she got out among the lead pack and pushed on to a great finish. Carlyn is improving each week in practice and is setting up to have a strong year.

“Overall, our girls ran a smart race as a team. Jaime, Cory and Ashley were only a few seconds apart.”
