Spring Lake Township firefighters were called at 12:18 p.m. on a transformer fire.

A Consumers Energy crew responded to the scene and had to replace the pole, Consumers Energy spokesperson Tim Pietryga said.

“We had to turn off the power so we could make the repairs to the pole,” Pietryga said.

Power was restored to the area by about 6:30 p.m., he said.
